Revitalize Your Skin with PRP Facelift in Tampa

PRP Tampa Skin RejuvenationWhat is a PRP Facelift?

The PRP facelift procedure is an ideal treatment for patients looking to rejuvenate the face and neck area without surgery or use of other synthetic materials. Since it is your own blood cells that are being applied, there is virtually no risk of allergic reaction or abnormal response. PRP treatments can also help scarring and stretch marks anywhere on the body and is also used to help musculoskeletal injuries heal faster as well.

What does a PRP Facelift do?

    • Leaves your skin looking and feeling smoother and tighter, more even skin tone and younger appearing skin due to collagen formation and increased blood flow. Enhance collagen production and tissue regeneration
    • Minimize scars
    • Reduce wrinkles
    • ‘Natural’ Facelift
    • PRP is the preferred treatment for the most noticeable and longest lasting results for wrinkles, acne scars, blemishes and sun damage.

    What happens during the procedure?

Numbing cream is applied to your face and stays there for about 25 minutes. A vile of blood is taken from a vein in your arm and put into a centrifuge that spins the blood causing the plasma, which is loaded with growth factors, to rise and separate from the red blood cells. The plasma is then injected into problem area in a series of superficial injections much like injections performed during botox or filler procedures. Finally, the plasma is applied to the skin of your face and neck followed by a, “needling,” procedure where the doctor runs a needling device over the entire area causing micro injury to the skin and driving the plasma into the dermis and epidermis. The combination of micro injury and driving the plasma into the superficial skin layers causes an inflammatory reaction followed by an immune response that repairs and regenerates the skin. The procedure literally triggers your body’s own natural immune response to repair and rejuvenate your skin. When the treatment is finished (about an hour) the plasma should remain on your face for at least eight hours. During this time, you should not wash your face or be in the sun.

    Is it painful?

The numbing cream is applied so that the most you will feel during the needling portion of the treatment is tiny pricks and vibration of the needling device. The needling pen has an oscillating tip that causes the vibrating sensation. When the pen is used around your nose, your eyes may water and you may feel like you have to sneeze. This is completely normal and expected. After the treatment the skin feels like a strong sunburn that cools off as the plasma sits on the face for the next several hours.

    Is it safe?

PRP skin treatments are extremely safe. Because PRP is produced from your own blood, there is less risk of an allergic reaction. In addition, PRP contains concentrated amount of white blood cells, your natural defenders against infections. As a result, infection is extremely rare with a PRP treatment.

Is there anything I can do to make the results even better?

Yes. As with all other aspects of anti-aging medicine, your body responds better when your health is optimized. Leading up to the procedure and going forward after the procedure, you should optimize nutritional status through diet and nutritional supplements, exercise regularly, get proper sleep and get your hormones balanced. After the procedure it is important to apply a hydrating serum that is free of harsh chemicals such as parabens, propylene glycol, and phthalates among others. There are also pharmaceutical grade, hydrating serums that aid in collagen production and can be prescribed to you to help optimize your results.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare for the procedure?

It is important to stop all anti-inflammatory medication such as motrin, aleve, ibuprofen, naproxen and fish oil supplements 7 – 10 days prior to the procedure. These products interfere with the natural inflammatory response and can inhibit the healing process.

How long until I see results?

Patients will usually see an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. 60 – 90 days is the optimal time to visualize changes to your skin but the results will continue to improve over the next 6 months after the treatment as collagen production continues.

How Many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments depends on desired outcomes. Although patients will see a difference with a single treatment, enhanced benefit is seen with multiple treatments as the effect is compounded with each additional treatment. For mild wrinkles, blemishes and skin tone issues, it is ideal to undergo a series of 3 treatments over a 3 – 6 months period. More moderate to severe wrinkles, acne scars and blemishes may take 6 – 8 treatments. Package pricing is available for those that need multiple sessions.
